Gambia: Serekunda Central Nawettan Reaches Climax

The annual Serekunda Central Sports Development Committee's Nawettan season has reached the closing stages with the League already at the final stage while the two finalists in the Knockout competition will also be revealed this weekend.

Defending Knockout champions Balla Academy will lock horns with Mams United in the finals of the League competition. The date of final that will played at the Serekunda Central football field i yet to be confirmed. It will give Mams FC the opportunity to avenge their 6-5 post-match penalty defeat over the same opposition in the knockout quarterfinal stages.

Balla Academy thrashed Bakoteh Borehole 3-0 in the semi-final of the league cup while Mams United secured their place in the finals with a hard fought 1-0 defeat of Ambassador's FC.

In the knock-out competition, Balla Academy will be hoping to make it through to its second final when they take on Bakoteh Borehole on Friday. Borehole had beaten Bantaba United 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the knock-out while Balla were made to work harder in their post-match penalty shot-out win over Mams FC. It was the second meeting between the two sides after Mams secured a 2-0 win in the group stages of the league competition.
