THE women's rugby governing body UWRA is planning to put an end to four years without a trophy for the national team.
One of UWRA's targets this season is to see the Lady Rugby Cranes reclaim the Elgon Cup from traditional rivals Kenya.
UWRA chairperson Jackie Kigozi, said plans are on to bring the trophy back to Kampala since 2008.
At that time, Uganda went down 18-17 in Kampala. Kigozi said the executive will approve the calendar for this year today.
"We expect to have four clubs playing in the league to enhance competition so that we get a strong national team," the official said.
Thunderbirds, Black Panthers, Eagles and Entebbe Sharks are set for battle. In the previous seasons, Thunderbirds and Black Panthers were the teams in action.
Kigozi said that last year posed a challenge with a number of international events which had minimal funding.
