Egypt: Cyprus Issues Formal Apology to Egyptian Ambassador

Cypriot President Demetris Christofias issued instructions for the Cypriot government to issue a formal apology to the Egyptian government for the incident faced by the Egyptian ambassador to Cyprus Menha Bakhoum at Larnaca airport last Saturday.

An official source in the Egyptian embassy in Cyprus said that the Cypriot government expressed its regret and apologized over the treatment of Ambassador Menha Bakhoum at Larnaca airport.
