Singida, Manyoni — PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete is scheduled to visit Singida for a one-day special visit to the region.Singida Regional Commissioner (RC), Dr Parseko Kone told reporters in Singida that the president would arrive in Manyoni township at noon on Saturday.
He is expected to have a short rest at Manyoni before proceeding to Singida town later in the evening.According to Dr Kone, the president is scheduled to attend a special mass at St Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Singida town on Sunday in which Bishop-elect Alex Mkumbo will be consecrated.
The RC said soon after Bishop Mkumbo is installed, the president will proceed to Igunga where he is scheduled to start a five-day working visit in Tabora region.Dr Kone has called on the general public to show up in great numbers in welcoming the president and at the consecration ceremony noting that the region was enormously blessed to have the presence of the president only five days after entering the New Year 2013.
President Kikwete visited Singida region last November for a two-day working tour where he inaugurated a water project in Singida and inspected the construction progress of the Manyoni- Itigi-Chaya tarmac road.
