Tanzania: Mentally Retarded Person Brutally Murdered

Moshi — THE police in Kilimanjaro Region have recovered the body of one Emmanuel Vincent Chuwa (25), a resident of Sungu village, Kibosho area in Moshi Rural District.

The Kilimanjaro Regional Police Commander (RPC), Robert Boaz, has said preliminary investigation has revealed that the deceased was beheaded and one of his legs dismembered by his assailants.

According to the police chief, the deceased went missing for the past nine days and that his body was discarded underneath a bridge between Kibosho Sungu and Kibosho Singa villages. It was further explained that the deceased suffered from mental retardation.

Commander Boaz informed the media that before his death, the deceased stayed with his uncle, identified as Peter Imiti Chuwa. Police have arrested the deceased's uncle and his aunt, one Donatila Chuwa for interrogation in connection with the murder.
