Kenya: Celebrities Electrify Kenyans in New Year Parties

Kenyans celebrated the New Year with pomp and colour. The mood from Nairobi to Mombasa was electric.

Nairobians were treated to great performances by top gospel artistes at the Groove Party held at the Nyayo Stadium. The event was sponsored by Safaricom. Meanwhile, Smirnoff held an all-white party dubbed 'The Night' at the Carnivore where they had a 16-DJ lineup.

In Mombasa, thousands attended the Tuko Tayari concert at the Jomo Kenyatta public beach on January 1. The concert was organised by Transport assistant minister Hassan Joho. Some of the artistes who performed were Jaguar, Cannibal, Susumila of the Siasa Duni fame, Jonny Skani, Mama Sizo and Tsunami dancers.

Still at the Coast, the Bongo fiesta beach party at the Jamboree attracted many revellers. The artistes who performed include Dogo Aslay, Tundaman, Hussein Machozi, Shetter, Shirko, Amour Bayby and Pasha.

Meanwhile, Kigeugeu hitmaker Jaguar was at Lambada Mtwapa as his musical rival Prezzo rocked club Mzooqa.
