Algeria: Aqim Financier Killed in Algeria

One of the nine terrorists killed last Tuesday by Algerian security forces in Keddara, Boumerdes, was identified as a major figure of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), El Watan reported on Saturday (January 5th).

Izza Rezki (aka Abou Djaffar) joined armed groups in 1994 at age 26. AQIM chief Abdelmalek Droukdel charged him with managing the finances of the organisation.

Rezki was also tasked with restructuring AQIM's El Feth katibat after Algerian security forces killed the terror brigade's leader, Omar Bentitraoui (aka Abou Khitma), in a Boumerdes restaurant in 2009.
