Nigeria: Benin Congress Confers Patriotic Award On Leadership

A renowned socio-cultural organisation, Benin National Congress (BNC), has conferred an award of Patriotic Media on the LEADERSHIP Newspapers, a subsidiary of LEADERSHIP Group Ltd.

The award ceremony, which was held at the weekend, was the seventh in the series of the awards by the socio-cultural which is committed to the promotion of society and moral values.

The event, which attracted prominent sons and daughters, was chaired by Chief Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri and Professor Friday Okonnofua, a consultant with Ford Foundation.

Chief Isekhure, in his opening remarks, commended BNC for honouring LEADERSHIP, a newspaper, he said, had remained a true defender of democracy and tenets in Nigeria, enjoining other media organisations in the country to emulate the organisation in the areas of editorial content and policy.

"LEADERSHIP has consistently remained one of the fastest growing news medium in Nigeria. I must say that each time I'm in Abuja, it is the first newspaper I read. I have always enjoyed its editorial content and policy," he said.
