Angola: Environment Ministry for Creation of Recycling Companies

Luanda — The official in charge of Waste and Sanitation Management of the Ministry of Environment, Joana Bernardo, proposed on Saturday in Luanda the creation of more garbage recycling companies.

According to him, the objective is to gather more consistent practices of preserving the environment and thus generating more jobs and making profits.

The official said so the press during the closing ceremony of Ecological Christmas project that started on 19 December, as part of Strategic Plan on Waste Management of the Ministry of Environment.

He said that "recycling is the beginning of the valuing process of what is despised and may serve as means of survival of many families".

The Ecological Christmas Project designed by the Ministry of Environment included awareness campaigns in localities of Cazenga, Cacuaco, Sambizanga and Kilamba.

The project focused on sensitizing the citizens on the importance of stratification of waste.
