Ondjiva — The Ombudsman office in southern Cunene province will this year give priority to holding of awareness campaigns and juridical assistance to population of the region, so as to make the institution more dynamic, the local ombudsman, Dionísio Hifewa, stated.

"There is a need for the population, independently from their location, to know the existence and the objectives of these services, in order for them to seek them, taking into account that in some cases citizens do not know where to go in case of injustice", he explained.

He said that this institution is tasked with defending freedom, human rights and the assurances of citizens, guaranteeing public administration justice and legality, through formal means.
