Mali: Al-Qaeda Targets More Mali Territory

Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and Ansar al-Din fighters were spotted Saturday (January 5th) in a convoy of some 100 weapons-filled vehicles bound for the northern Mali town of Mopti, Al-Arabyia reported.

Ansar al-Din military leader Omar Hamaha reportedly passed through Timbuktu before heading to Mopti to begin an assault on the town.
