Nigeria: FG Urges Gombe to Relocate 115 Flood Victims

The Federal Government has urged the Gombe State government to urgently relocate 115 flood victims still at the Lawanti camp in Akko Local Government Area of the state to a better place.

Durojaiye Adebayo, the leader of the Task Force on Flood Disaster Intervention of the Federal Ministry of Health, made the call in Gombe yesterday while briefing newsmen on their findings in the state.

Adebayo expressed concern over the condition of the displaced persons and wondered why the victims were still in the camp.

He further said besides the 115 persons still in camp, there were 350 internally displaced persons (IDPs) and 32,215 damaged houses in the 11 local governments of the state.(NAN)
