The Sinkor Lions Club has unveiled plans to construct hand pumps for residents of Todee District, Montserrado County.
The President of the Club, Mrs. Nadu Cooper, said the decision to construct hand pumps is due to the lack of safe drinking water for some of the residents in the area.
Mrs. Cooper made the disclosure in an interview shortly after several personalities were honored as Paul Harris Fellow by the Sinkior Lions Club at a local restaurant in Monrovia recently.
She called on well meaning people and institutions to contribute to the construction of a building to house an elementary school within the Marshall City area.
Also speaking during the program, the President of the Monrovia Lions Club called on Liberians and foreign residents to assist the Club in helping the needy especially the blind in the country.
Mrs. Ophelia Hoff Saytumah said the needy needs the help of well-meaning people to contribute to help them with their basic needs and wants in order to survive.
At the end of the program, several personalities were honored for giving willingly to the Sinkor Lions Club.
Those honored were named; Paul Harris Fellow.
