CONTEMPORARY Zambian music adversaries Slap D and Macky II have garnered more nominations for this year's Mosi Lager Zambian Music awards slated for February 22.
Slap D whose real name is Mwila Musonda has been nominated in seven categories that include the Best Male Artiste contemporary category, Best Hip Hop album for True Story and Best Hip Hop song for his hit song Kuichaila.
On the other hand Mulaza Kaira aka Macky II is up against his nemesis Slap D in the Best Hip Hop song for Ndeloleshafye, Best Male Artist contemporary, Album of the year for Legendary.
The Kopala Swag artiste has a total of eight nominations including the best song writer that pits him against the legends Exile (Izrael) and Danny Kaya.
Gospel artiste Pompi who recently released his first album Mizu has been nominated in the Best Hip Hop/Rap album pitting him with Slap D's True Story and Macky II's Legendary.
The gospel artist is also nominated alongside Kings Malembe and Ephraim in the Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Male Artist.
Coincidentally, Ephraim who late last year advised his friends on the social network Facebook not to nominate him in any awards has been nominated for the two categories above.
Female artistes Mampi and Judy have gained four nominations each and are up for the Best Female Artiste Contemporary, while their albums Chimo ni chimo and Chikawama will have people voting for the Best Female album together with Kay's Kanyelele.
The nominees for the 2012 Mosi Lager Zambian Music Awards were announced at a ceremony held at the Southern Sun Hotel in Lusaka were the judges were also unveiled.
Veteran artist Emmanuel Jagari Chanda will head a team of judges that has Maureen Lilanda, BJ Ngosa, Enock Chibwete and Patrick Samwimbila.
Voting started yesterday and will only end on February 15, while judges will adjucate the others categories that will not be decided by votes.
