As a teenage school girl I had watched the film, The Man with Golden Gun, one of James Bond's 007 adventures. Not being a great fan of the Casanova Spy, I'm not sure I can write ten good lines about either the man (played by Roger Moore) or the movie. But not so about The Man with the Golden Heart, as I've decided to call football star Cristiano Ronaldo; ever since I read a heart-warming story about his kind and generous soul.

So ignorant was I of the goal posts that I actually cheered when the opposing team almost scored. I held my peace from then on and the day was saved when the tournament ended 7-1 in favour of Nigeria. During any World cup series I always asked which country won after the match, but I never had the patience or the interest to watch the action.
