The Armed Forces categorically denied media reports which claimed that the security operation, meant to eliminate terrorists, in Sinai has stopped due to holding negotiations with the armed elements.

The security operation in Sinai is going on in coordination with the Interior Ministry's security forces, the Armed Forces said.

The Armed Forces could not hold negotiations by any means with armed criminal elements aiming to tamper with Sinai's security and stability.

The security operation in Sinai Peninsula achieved many successes over the past period, the Armed Forces said.

The Armed Forces urged media outlets to be accurate in their coverage, especially on issues of national security and the police.
