Luanda — The national football squad coach, Gustavo Ferrin, will continue managing the team regardless of the results in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON2013) of South Africa, scheduled for 19 January to 10 February, said last Sunday the chairman of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), Pedro Neto.
In an interview to the Angolan Radio 05 channel, Pedro Neto said that the contract of the Uruguayan coach was signed in the perspective of long term work and not according Angola's participation in the Africa Cup of Nations final phase.
To the chairman of FAF it is rather important to achieve the goal, but a different result would not necessarily mean that there has been a bad job, adding that before any position is taken one must consider all the factors that contributed to the good or bad.
Gustavo Ferrin, who signed a contract with the FAF on 7th July for a period of two years, replaced the Angolan coach Romeu Filemon, who had temporarily taken the job of coaching the national squad.
