Ondjiva — The courage and sacrifice of martyrs of colonial repression in defence of their rights were highlighted on Friday in Ondjiva city, southern Cunene province, by the historian Kaufilwa Aidula.
Speaking to Angop, Kaufilwa Aidula said that in that time a brutal repression of the Portuguese colonial regime sacrificed life of thousands Angolan peasants that were claiming for better working conditions.
Kaufilwa Aidula recalled that the revolt of these country fellowmen contributed to the emergence of other conquests, such as the beginning of the armed struggle against the Portuguese colonial regime on 4 February.
