Eritrea: Impact of Preschool in Anseba Region Described Remarkable

Keren — The Education Ministry's branch in Anseba region indicated that the impact of preschool as regards nurturing educationally competent children has become remarkable in the region.

Ms. Tiegisti Mehari, head of preschool education at the Ministry's branch office, pointed out that the Government is making substantial investment in this regard, and called on parents to raise their awareness as regards the impact of kindergarten education in the psychological development of children. Mr. Kiflom Tesfatsion from the branch office on his part explained that the fact that preschool is the educational level at which students lay foundation demands integrated venture on both parents and teachers.

Moreover, Ms. Tiegisti disclosed that kindergartens in the majority of the region's sub-zones are rendering commendable service, and called for enhancement of popular participation in raising the level of registration to this end.

Reports indicate that there exist 6,200 kindergarten students in the region.
