Kenya: Ruiru Clergy Endorse Mayor for MP

SOME clerics from Ruiru municipality have endorsed mayor Geoffrey Mwangi Kaara as their preferred candidate for the Ruiru parliamentary seat.

The mayor also got saved during a weekend prayer meeting that the pastors held at a Ruiru hotel. The pastors said Kaara is hardworking and God fearing man who can lead the people well.

Speaking at the ceremony the national chairman of the Federation of Evangelical and Indigenous Christian Churches of Kenya Bishop Joseph Methu said the church will not be left out in matters of public interest.

"The church too has a role to play in electing credible leaders," Methu said. Kaara promised economic growth to the people of Ruiru if elected. "As the mayor for Ruiru I know the needs of my people," said Kaara
