Angola: MACON Expands Fleet to Moxico

Luena — The municipalities and communes of eastern Moxico province have been included in the system of the privately-owned road transport company (MACON) for 2013.

The information was released in Luena, Moxico's capital city, by MACON's representative, Jorge de Carvalho "Frazão".

Speaking to ANGOP, the official said that the department is to establish contacts with Moxico province officials to get a site for the parking of over 10 buses.

He added that MACON has been operating the Luena-Saurimo-Luanda routes since two months ago, and with the opening of new routes (Lucusse, Luau and Bundas) the company will have created more than ten new jobs for drivers, conductors, mechanics and others.

Jorge de Carvalho said that given the demand, the company will extend its services to other municipalities, as soon as the condition of the roads in the region get improved.

MACON was established on 25 May 2001 and operates throughout the country.
