Luanda — National Police recorded 230 road accidents that claimed 46 lives and left 219 others injured countrywide during the Christmas and New Year festive.
The information was released Monday in Luanda by the second commander general of the National Police, chief commissioner Paulo de Almeida.
The police high ranking officer released the data when assessing the operation aimed at securing the festive season, having mentioned 73 run-over that caused 22 dead and 74 wounded.
He also quoted 52 collisions between vehicles that resulted in one dead and 36 wounded and 45 collision between vehicles and motorcycles that caused 14 deaths and 43 wounded.
According to the police commander, Luanda topped the list of the accidentswith 50 (21 dead and 42 injured), followed by Benguela with 26, Huíla (12), Moxico and Bengo 14 and 10 road accidents, respectively.
