Nigeria: UN Under Secretary to Parley Jonathan On Women's Issues

UN Under-Secretary General and Executive Director of UN Women, Michelle Bachelet, will hold talks with President Goodluck Jonathan on gender equality and empowerment of women in the country when she arrives in Nigeria Tuesday.

It is believed that the theme of the discussion with the president is to underscore the need for Nigeria to abide by the United Nations General Assembly Resolutions in July 2010 on gender equality.

Bachetet will be received on her arrival to the country by the Minister of Women Affairs Hajiya Zainab Maina and the UN Resident Coordinator to Nigeria, Mr Daouda Touré and the UN Women Country Representative to Nigeria.
