Angola: Fire Department Records 17 Deaths Over Weekend Countrywide

Luanda — Seventeen people died, 11 out of them by drowning in beaches and rivers, over the last weekend, says the national civil protection and fire services (SNPCB), Angop has learnt.

This was announced by SNPCB's spokesman, Faustino Sebastião, who added that the seven drown were recorded in beaches of Ilha do Cabo and Mussulo and the rest in Benguela, Kwanza-Sul and Cunene.

According to the source, six people died by road accidents in Luanda, Huila and Cunene provinces, being that two were seriously injured and one due to fire were recorded in a residence in Luanda.
