Gambia: Former GPA MD Faces More Charges

Abdoulie Tambedou, former Managing Director of the Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) yesterday, 2 January 2012, at the Banjul Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate Momodou M.S Jallow pleaded not guilty to extra three count charge of allegedly giving false information contrary to section 114 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC).

Prior to the not guilty plea of the accused, the prosecutor, Sergeant Almameh Manga, made an application pursuant to Section 169 Sub-section (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) to amend the charge sheet to four counts instead of one count earlier proffered on the accused.
