Kenya: Speaker Orders Minister to Meet Budget Committee Over Devolution Bills

Parliament has been adjourned to this afternoon after sitting for one hour to give Finance minister Njeru Githae time to explain key issues on the devolution bills to the budget committee.

MPs led by Rangwe MP Martin Ogido wanted the government to clarify how it will share revenue to all counties in the next four months before they can pass the Transition County Allocation of revenue bill. MPs were to discuss the Division of Revenue Bill, County Allocation of revenue bill and the Transition County Appropriation Bill before the concerns were raised.
