Namibia: Nkurenkuru Couple Found Dead

THE police at Nkurenkuru are scratching their heads after a couple died at Tondoro village in the Nkurenkuru constituency in the Kavango Region yesterday.

Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi, a police spokesperson, yesterday said that a daughter of the couple found their lifeless bodies in their bedroom at about 08h00 yesterday.

The body of Sitoka Joseph Himarwa (56) was found on the bed, while that of his wife, Clara Sidemba (50), was found next to the bed.

Kanguatjivi said the couple attended a wedding celebration the previous evening after which they went home.

He said the daughter, who lives in a backyard room, wanted to get something from the main house when she made the discovery.

She called the neighbours to the scene who then alerted the police.

Kanguatjivi said that there was no indication of a break-in. Also, there were no signs of any visible injuries. "We are waiting for the autopsy to determine the exact cause of death."

He said that no foul play was suspected at this stage.

The police spokesperson said that Himarwa was a school principal while his wife was a head of department at the same school.
