Namibia: Grinder Slits Man's Throat

A 37-YEAR-OLD man has died after his throat was slit by an angle grinder's spinning blade.

Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi, a police spokesperson, yesterday said the incident took place on Sunday at about 16h00.

Dawid Swartz was said to be grinding iron bars at Farm Darmstatt in the Keetmanshoop area. Kanguatjivi said the blade of the grinder broke and slit Swartz's throat.

He died on the spot.

The police officer says Swartz hailed from the Krönlein residential area in Keetmanshoop.
