Gambia: President Jammeh Gives 21 Bulls to NAYCONF

The President of The Republic, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh, Sunday donated 21 bulls to the ongoing National Youth Conference and Festival (NAYCONF).

Alieu K Jammeh, the minister of Youth and Sports, presented the bulls to the Organising Committee on behalf of the Gambian leader at a ceremony held at the Bansang Senior Secondary School grounds.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Jammeh highlighted the importance of the gesture, adding that it will go a long way in complementing the efforts of the Organising Committee in making the event a success. He said the president is always with the youths of the country and his objective is to ensure that they are empowered. "Let us reflect and ask ourselves what we can do to help President Jammeh achieve his dreams for this country and to move the country forward," he remarked.

The Youth and Sports minister averred that youth development has always been at the top of the Gambian leader's development agenda since 1994, and further urged the young people of this country to protect the good image of the nation, and to meaningfully contribute their quota in the development of the country.

The Attorney General and minister of Justice, Lamin Jobarteh, commended the president for the assistance, saying no one else can do what he [President Jammeh] has done for the youth of this country."Allah even said it in the Holy Quran that if somebody does something good for you, try to appreciate his effort. Therefore, let us thank the president for his assistance in making the event a success," he stated.

Alhaji Ganyie Touray, the governor of the Central River Region (CRR), and Lamin Sanneh, governor of West Coast Region, both applauded the continued efforts of the president in making the event a success. They urged the youth of this country to continue their unflinching support to the president and to contribute their quota towards national development.

Receiving the gesture on behalf of the National Organising Committee, Fabakary Kalleh, the chairperson of the National Youth Council and the National Organising Committee of the NAYCONF, hailed the president for the assistance he is rendering to the Committee. He urged the youths to rally behind the president and to give him the necessary support at all times.

Meanwhile, all the bulls have been distributed among the various regions accordingly.
