Angola: Minister Stresses Importance of New Power Plant

Menongue — Angolan minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, said Monday that the recently inaugurated new Power Station in Menongue, south-easten Kuando Kubango province will overcome some constraints recorded in the region.

The 10-megawatts plant, is considered one of the most important investments of the Executive matching the rehabilitation and developing programme of the production capacity of energy countrywide.

The infrastructure is the result of an extraordinary meeting of Cabinet Council held two year ago in Menongue (Kuando Kubango).

Under the guidance of the Angolan head of State José Eduardo dos Santos, the participants approved various implementation and emergency plans, which along with others social sectors, boosted the power sector.
