Gambia: Tujereng, Berending Sail to Semis in Kombo District Tourney

Tujereng and Berending are through to the semi-final in the 2012-2013 Kombo South District Football Tournament after winning their quarterfinal ties at the Tujereng and Jambanjelly football fields at the weekend.

Tujereng progressed to the semi-final after a 3-2 win over Farato in their quarterfinal clash played at the Jambanjelly Football Field on Sunday.

Berending advanced to the semi-final following their penalty shootout win over Jambanjelly, after a goalless game in the regulation time played at the Tujereng Football Field on Saturday.

It would be recalled that defending champions Sifoe and Banyaka booked their tickets to the semi-final stage after winning their quarterfinal games a fortnight ago.

Sifoe beat Tanji on penalties to sail to the semi-final after a 1-1 draw in regulation time, while Banyaka also secured a place in the semi-final following their post-match penalty shootout win over Batokunku, after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
