Kenya: Malian Singer Vieux Toure to Perform Tomorrow

The Malian master of the Desert Blues and one of the most celebrated African guitarists in history Vieux Farka Touré will be performing at Alliance Francoise tomorrow.

Vieux, son of the legendary Ali Farka Touré will be the opening act the first 2013 cultural season. Lauded as the Jimi Hendrix of the Sahara, Vieux has a reputation for original guitar melodies. He best remembered for his deft live performance during the 2010 World Cup before a billion people in Johannesburg, South Africa.The artiste is on an African tour of 17 countries (from West Africa through to Central Africa, East Africa and the Indian Ocean.

His tour is sponsored by Institut Français, the French international agency for cultural cooperation.
