The Embu Catholic Justice and Peace Commission has advised the youth to be careful when attending campaign rallies.Speaking during a youth seminar in Mbiruri parish on Friday, the Embu CJPC commissioner John Murithi said the youth are the most vulnerable group targeted for abuse by politicians.
"When you attend a political meeting, listen to what aspirants are saying but don't interrupt their proceedings," he said.Murithi warned the youth against being bought by the politicians saying doing so is betraying the country.
"You will be ruining your future if you accept a bribe from a politician," he said.Murithi's warning comes after a group of youths disrupted a political rally in Kianjokoma, Embu North District.
On his side, the Catholic National Youth Chaplain Fr. Adrian Ireri said that Kenyans must call a halt on the vices which may lead to strict measures under the new constitution saying that it was their duty to elect leaders with integrity. They however called on the voters to own Kenya and urged them to turn in large numbers when time for scrutinizing voter's registration comes.
