KAKAMEGA municipal council has dismissed as cheap politics claims by traders that it has sold stalls at its new market to strangers.
Town mayor Matias Sichere yesterday said that the few traders who staged protests in the town on Friday did not apply for allocation of the stalls and have no basis to accuse the civic body over allocation of the same.
"Procedures are clear. The council advertised for balloting of stalls at the market three months ago and those who applied were all considered," he said.
