Nigeria: 91 Kidnap, Robbery Suspects Killed in 2012 - Delta

The Police Command in Delta State, has said that no fewer than 91 kidnappers and armed robbery suspects were killed by the police between January 2012 to January 5, this year.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, gave the figure to newsmen in Asaba.

He said that though the state was a flash point for criminals, the security agencies were ready to combat them. He warned the criminals to turn a new leave because there would be no hiding place for them this New Year.

According to him, the command arrested 473 suspected robbers and kidnappers, killed 91, injured six and recovered 212 arms and 158 ammunition.

He said: "We also recued 82 kidnapped victims, recovered 76 vehicles and 19 motorcycles in the year under review."

He called for more support from the general public, traditional rulers and parents, adding that the police would need information to serve the people better.
