Nigeria: Oyo NSCDC Recovers Bus From Pipeline Vandals

The Anti-Vandal Squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Oyo State on Tuesday recovered a yellow Toyota Hiace bus from suspected vandals.

The State Commandant, Mr Clement Adesuyi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the vehicle was impounded at Akimorin pipeline layout of Afijio Local Government Area in Oyo State.

According to him, the vehicle marked Oyo XB 400 AME was abandoned by the suspected vandals during an early morning raid of the area.

He said the officers were not able to make any arrests as the suspects ran away on sighting the officers of the command.

The NSCDC boss, however, said they were still on the trail of the suspects as investigations were on-going.

Adesuyi, while commending his officers, said he would not renege on his promise to rid the state of vandals.

He added that not less than 126 kegs of 25-litre size, used for the illegal activity were in the vehicle at the time of the seizure.
