Sumbe — A photo and documental exhibition called "Kwanza Sul, history through documental and iconographic sources" was inaugurated Tuesday in Sumbe, central Kwanza Sul province, as part of the celebrations of the National Culture Day, January 8.
Promoted by the Angola National Archives, the exhibition is on the premises of the Sumbe Medium Polytechnic Institute.
Its opening was witnessed by the minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, accompanied by the local provincial governor, Eusébio Teixeira, and portrays aspects of the history of the province and its peoples over the colonial period.
According to the director of the Angola National Archives, Alexandra Aparício, the exhibition is mainly intended to draw the attention of students, researchers and members of the public to the documental and iconographic sources on Kwanza Sul province.
