Nigeria: My Book On Stewardship Coming - Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has asked Nigerians waiting for his own account of stewardship in government in the dramatic eight-year tenure along with President Olusegun Obasanjo in the Aso Rock to exercise patience as he is about to complete work on his own memoirs.

Atiku, who was reacting to questions on the book reportedly authored by his media office staff, focusing on issues including his rough relationship with his former boss, said the new book was the opinion of the media office on their experiences, and that his own account of stewardship between 1999 to 2007 would soon be completed.

Atiku said that, "As principal actors and witnesses to a very interesting period in the political history of our country, it is not at all unexpected that these staff members have their stories to tell concerning the events of that period. It is our belief that such renditions of historically important events and occurrences should be encouraged for the public to be better informed.

"The above notwithstanding, it is pertinent to point out that the book contains the media office's recollections of those events, and that my own will sooner than later be completed and released," he said.
