THE introduction of the rebased kwacha has brought with it a lot of jumbles.
I was in one of the banks on Wednesday, 2nd January, 2013 and cashiers had a torrid time explaining to customers on how to complete the newly-introduced deposit slips bearing two parts, one in the old currency and the other in the rebased form.
A lot of customers could not easily understand how to fill in the deposit slip.
You would find people completing deposits over and over again due to mistakes.
I am appealing to banks to embark on sensitisation programmes for its customers on how to handle various transactions carried out in banks in the rebased currency.
I am quite certain that with this kind of sensitisation, and of course with time, these confusions will be a thing of the past.
