Liberia: Gedeh Community College Opens

The Grand Gedeh community College has been finally opened in Zwedru. The Grand Gedeh University Students Union, hailing the opening of the college, expressed profound gratitude to the Legislative Caucus of the County and Government of Liberia for the recent construction of the community college in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh.

The union described the venture as a positive step toward the decentralization of college education in Liberia, noting that such move will create the environment for equal opportunity and quality education for all Liberians.

The union is also urged citizens of Grand Gedeh County, including the youth population to take serious advantage of such opportunity to improve their human resource capacity for the development of the county and Liberia.

It expressed the hope that the opening of the community college in the county will help to create the academic environment for better understanding of issues relative to the growth and of the county and.

"We are craving the indulgence of the national government to consider the reduction of fees per course to enable unemployed youth and citizens to enroll at the institution; we are also asking all sons and daughters of Grand Gedeh to offer their best to the county by rendering their services to the college," the GGUSU concluded.
