Mogadishu — The leader of the semi-autonomous region of Puntand in north east Somalia has declared when the presidential election of that region would be held.
Speaking at a ceremony held in Bodsaso last night, Abdurahman Mohamed, the president of Puntland said that the election to elect a new president would be held in Puntland in January next year. This means that he will lead Puntland beyong current term which ended this month.
Farole said that the constitution of that region permits his administration to extend one year to the normal term and he fiercely attacked his opponents as failed politicians.
There has been a political storm in Puntland recently about the election of a new president as Farole's was coming to an end and politicians in that part of Somalia accused Farole of breaking the rule of constitution if election was not held this month.
In his address last night, Farole told that he did a lot for the better of Puntland he particularly stated that Puntland developed in the field of industries, businesses and the fight against piracy.
