Nigeria: FCT Elections - UPP Alleges Harassment of Candidate

Ahead of the Area Council elections in Federal Capital Territory (FCT) fixed for March, the United Progressive Party (UPP) has accused the authorities of the Capital City of molesting its Councillorship candidate in the Abuja City Centre, Hon. Ikenna Iheme.

The party called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide a level playing field for all political parties contesting the FCT elections.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the FCT Chapter of UPP, Chief Harry Udeh, alleged that the Abuja Environmental Protection Board Officials have arrested and detained Iheme for allegedly pasting the party's campaign poster within his Ward.
