Angola: Culture Minister Defends Divulging of Katambi Dance

Sumbe — The minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, defended Tuesday in Cachoeiras da Binga locality, district of Conda, Kwanza Sul Province, more divulging of the Katambi dance.

Speaking to the press, Rosa Cruz e Silva, stressed that Katambi dance represents the cultural value of Kwanza Sul Province population, reason why it should be divulged for the society to know it.

The minister stated that Katambi dance and others can be modernized, but not be changed, so that its originality can be maintained.

According to the minister, it is necessary to keep an interchange with other regions of Angola and overseas about the importance of Angolan culture.

The minister of Culture ended Wednesday her visit to Kwanza Sul Province, after presiding over on Tuesday the main act of the National Culture Day, marked on January 8.
