Angola: Sociologist Lashes Out At Exclusion of Player Mabiná

Luanda — The sociologist and secretary of the President for Social Affairs, Simao Helena Wednesday in Luanda expressed outraged at the removal of the Angolan athlete Mabiná from the list of 23 players summoned to represent the country at the final phase of African Cup of Nations (CAN2013), taking place from 19 January to 10 February in South Africa.

The sociologist was speaking to Angop on the participation of Angola in CAN2013, stressing that the midfield of Petro de Luanda club meets the conditions to join the team.

Simao Helena recalled that the player always knew to represent the team on all occasions he was called, always giving his best contribution to the achievement of the goals.

Despite the removal of Mabiná, the secretary said he believed in a good participation of the national team judging by their experience in previous championships and the quality of some players.

Angola meets, in its first game, Morocco on 19 January in Soccer City Stadium.
