Angola: Huila Reinforces Support for Development of Sport

Lubango — The governor of Huila province, João Marcelino Tyipinge reaffirmed today, Wednesday, in Lubango, that his executive will reinforce material support to sports associations, with the expectation that the sport will grow increasingly.

Speaking at the homage ceremony that Huila provincial government gave to the athletes Ana Isabel Elias (retired distance runner) and elected Diva for Sport 2012, as the gymnast Zulmira Jempele (10 years), who participated in the African Cup in South Africa and won the silver medal.

Marcelino Tyipinge said the executive through the provincial department of Youth and Sports and Education has planned implementation of the program of mass sectors, communes and municipalities, action to be carried out from schools.

He noted that this programme aims to develop the sport because Huila province was once considered one of the powers of athletics.

The governor said that besides the mass, the executive will provide support to provincial associations of various types so that they can implement the actions within.
