Angola: Police Commander Considers Crime Situation Good

Menongue — The commander general of the National Police, Ambrósio de Lemos, Wednesday in Menongue, southeastern Kuando Kubango province, considered positive the criminal situation in the region.

The commander was presenting an assessment of his two-day visit to Kuando Kubango that presents an average of one crime a day.

As to road accidents, the officer said the province has recorded a substantial drop, mainly in the province's capital city, Menongue, thanks to measures adopted by the local command.

On the other hand, the commander said there are constraints in terms of infrastructure and staff, including communication and locomotion means.

However, the police commissioner expressed satisfaction with the construction and rehabilitation of eight police stations awaiting equipment and subsequent inauguration.
