YOUTH in Kuresoi South and North have embarked on a mission to preach peace.

Through youth groups, they intend to visit homes, meet the locals in barazas, market and churches to urge them to uphold love, peace and unity during and after the March 4 elections.

"We will not let anyone disturb the peace. We are going to ensure that everybody goes into the elections bearing in mind that we are one and Kenya belongs to everyone," said Kuresoi Youth Association chair Benard Sang.

The two constituencies which are among the 11 that make up Nakuru county bore the brunt of the 2007-8 post-election violence.

Sang said the youths should learn from the violence and spearhead reconciliation and harmony. He urged registered voters not to vote along tribal lines.

"Let us elect leaders based on their development agenda and past records, not where they come from. We should at all cost avoid politicians who want to misuse us," said Sang.
