Kenya: Bishop Says Coast Needs 'Managers'

MOMBASA ACK Bishop Julius Kalu has asked Coast residents to elect leaders who will deliver them from their misery.Speaking at his office in Mombasa yesterday, Kalu said the residents should consider the March 4 elections a golden opportunity to choose competent leaders.

"This is a unique election that presents us with an opportunity to deliver ourselves from the chronic problem of poor leadership we have been experiencing since independence," he said.

The bishop asked registered voters to turn out in large numbers on elections day.He said residents should shun politician and instead elect 'managers' who will help utilise the region's vast resources to eradicate poverty.
