Kenya: Pupils Charged With Robbery

THREE teenagers including a standard eight pupil who allegedly violently robbed a man of his cash at the Likoni crossing channel were yesterday arraigned in court.

Tom Mbuvi Kitavi, Kennedy Owino Odhiambo and the class eight pupil denied one count of robbery with violence.The court heard that the three robbed Mulavi Mutua of Sh 3,000 while at the Likoni crossing channel and used violence at the time of the said robbery.

Mbuvi told the court they were in a crowd of people walking from Mama Ngina drive when the complainant raised alarm and were attacked by a mob.

Senior principle magistrate Richard Odenyo told the accused they would be given a chance to explain themselves before their trial court.

The court released each of them on a Sh 300, 000 cash bond with one surety.The case will come up for hearing on March 13.In the same court a landlady was charged in court for beating up her tenant.

The magistrate told them they will be given a chance to explain themselves.
