Gambia: Njogou Bah Back As SG & Presidential Affairs Minister - Madi Jatta, Mustapha Charles Camara Deployed

Dr. Njogou L Bah, the minister of Information and Communication Infrastructure has been appointed as the Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service and Minister for Presidential Affairs with effect from Wednesday, 9th January 2013, a media release from State House reveals.

Dr. Bah according to the release will still maintain his position as Minister of Information and Communication Infrastructure. Meanwhile, the release stated that Madi O Jatta who was the Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service and Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs is now deployed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Permanent Secretary.

In the same vein, the release further stated, Mustapha Charles Camara who was the Minister for Presidential Affairs has been relieved of his Cabinet appointment and is now being deployed to the Foreign Service.

The release reads: The general public is hereby being informed that His Excellency the President of the Republic of The Gambia Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, acting under the powers vested in him under Section 168 and 80 respectively, of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia has relieved Mr Madi O Jatta of his position as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service and Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs with effect from Wednesday 9th January 2013. Mr Madi Jatta is now deployed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Permanent Secretary.

In the same vein, His Excellency the President acting under the provisions of Sections 71(4)(b) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, has decided to relieve Mr Mustapha Charles Camara of his Cabinet appointment as Minister for Presidential Affairs with immediate effect. Mr Mustapha Charlse Camara is now being deployed to the Foreign Service.

Furthermore, His Excellency the President Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, acting under the powers vested in him under Section 168, 71(1) and 71(3) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia has appointed Dr Njogou L Bah as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service and Minister for Presidential Affairs with effect from Wednesday 9th January 2013. Dr Njogou L Bah will still maintain his position as Minister of Information and Communication Infrastructure.
